This policy explains how Recordkite collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit our website or use the Recordkite service, which logs Slack Connect conversations as activities in Attio.
Recordkite is a trading name of Cranford Tech Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15069364). "We", "us" and "our" mean Cranford Tech Limited. You can contact us about privacy at hello@recordkite.com.
For our website, our own customer accounts and billing, we are the data controller. For the Slack and Attio data we process when a customer uses Recordkite, we act as a data processor on behalf of that customer, who is the controller.
We process personal data where it's necessary to perform our contract with you, where we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use your Slack or Attio content to train AI models.
Recordkite uses third-party AI providers to summarise conversations. We send them only the content needed to create a summary, under terms that don't allow them to use it to train their models.
We use trusted service providers to run Recordkite, such as cloud hosting, AI providers, payment processing and email. They process data only on our instructions and under appropriate data protection terms. We may also share data if the law requires it, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business. A list of our subprocessors is available on request.
Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
We keep Slack message content only as long as we need it to create and update activities in Attio. Activities written to Attio stay in your Attio workspace, under your control. We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is open and afterwards as required by law, then delete or anonymise them.
We use industry-standard measures to protect data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and least-privilege access to Slack and Attio. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify affected customers of a breach as the law requires.
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy of it. Email hello@recordkite.com and we'll respond within one month.
If you're a participant in a Slack channel that one of our customers has connected to Recordkite, that customer controls your data. Please contact them first; we'll help them respond to your request.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. We may use cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work, such as keeping you signed in.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the date at the top of the page and, for significant changes, let customers know by email.
